Power of Mathematics || Small story #006

         There was a big empire of king Ramulo somewhere in the middle of Asia. He was the most powerful king in whole continent. Also, he was wealthiest king of all the kings and people in his country where happy and everyone was rich enough. Nobody was poor and beggar there. And obviously the king also proud of this. But, eventually he was becoming arrogant and egoistic on his wealth and Empire as a king. Likewise the people in his Empire where following the same.
          The king Ramola had a daughter named Jasmine. She was very charming and beautiful. One day, Jasmine was wondering in the small village nearby. Suddenly she was caught by some soldiers of king's enemy's army. The brave and intelligent man named Akira saved Jasmine from enemies using his brain and took her to the king. king was worried about his daughter. As he saw her daughter he became very happy. He was impressed by Akira. He appealed Akira to ask for anything he want.
          
         
        The king said, " Akira, you saved my daughter's life, thank you. Now, ask for anything you want,I am ready to give you whatever you want."

        Akira think a while and said, " My lord, I just want 1 rice grain today, 2 rice grain tomorrow, 4 grains the next day, 8 grains the day after, 16 grains after that day, for 64 days. That's it." Means he would take double number grains of what he received on the previous day for 64 days. The king surprised and said, " What? Are you foolish? I tell you to ask for money, gold or silver or even very precious things, but you are asking for such a cheaper thing." The king added, " think again, I am giving you one more chance." Akira was quite a while and said, " yes, my lord, I am sure, please meet my demand." The king agreed and muttered(laughing), "such a foolish man! " He promised Akira, to do the same for 64 days and ordered his servants to fulfill Akira's request. 
        Grain count from day one to day 64: 
Day 1: 1 grain
Day 2: 2 grains
Day 3: 4 grains
Day 4: 8 grains
Day 5: 16 grains

Day 32: 2,147,483,648 grains

.
Day 63: 4,611,686,018,427,387,904 grains
Day 64: 9,223,372,036,854,775,808 grains

Total grains: 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains.

Incredible!

Just for information:
One rice grain weights approximately 0.029 grams
       So, 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 grains approximately weights  5,34,95,55,78,13,78,66,940 grams i.e 5,89,68,75,84,623.46594238 tons.
And you will surprise to hear that Global annual production of rice is 700 tons (present).

Such a big figure came out coming to 64th day of promise. The King sold his Empire day by day but still he was unable to fulfill Akira's demand. 
        That's the power of knowing Mathematics. This was the small story signifying the power of Mathematics ( especially power of exponential growth).
